ABOUT

Hello everybody! 😀 I am an astronomer working in Galaxy Formation and Evolution at the University of Valladolid (Spain) with a Distinguished Senior Researcher position. I am also affiliated to the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences (Portugal). I love studying extreme objects such as the most massive galaxies of the Universe or the outermost parts of the galaxies (their superfaint galaxy edges), and anything related to challenge the current frontiers of our Physics theories

IA - OAL (Portugal)

I obtained a FCT fellowship at the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences, working in the The assembly history of galaxies resolved in space and time thematic line.

SEPTEMBER 2015 - SEPTEMBER 2020

Invited Lecturer
University of Lisbon (Portugal)

I taught two courses in the University of Lisbon Faculty of Sciences: Extragalactic Astrophysics: Galaxy formation and evolution (MSc in Physics) and Advanced topics in Extragalactic Astrophysics: Galaxy formation and evolution (PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics). I also supervised the PhD Thesis of Sandra Reis (Photometric and kinematical tracers of the inside-out growth of massive galaxies; with Polychronis Papaderos and Israel Matute)
